Step 23. Little Ones

broken image

Children are little bundles full of energy! Trying to get them to wind down for sleep can be a challenge. While all of the options we have discussed so far are great for children, there are a few other ideas we can incorporate.

If your child has a specific stuffed animal she likes to cuddle with, consider spraying it with your linen spray.Or maybe your little one is afraid of things that go bump in the night? Monster Spray to the rescue! You can check the closets, under the bed, below the window, and keep the area clear of monsters with your special deterrent spray!

M

ONSTER BE GONE NIGHTTIME SPRAY• 1–2 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil• 2–3 Drops Lavender Essential Oil• 1–2 Drops Restful Blend Essential Oil• 1 Tablespoon Witch Hazel• 1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt • Filtered Water

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Add Essential Oils of choice to small spray bottle.2. Add witch hazel and sea salt. Swirl the bottle to mix the oils around.3. Add water until the bottle is approximately 3/4 full.4. Place the spray cap on and give the bottle another gentle swirl to incorporate the Essential Oils.

Setting the mood helps children get control of their emotions and helps them train their thoughts. Let your child help you make the spray mixture, and decorate the spray bottle with silly monster face stickers and googly eyes. Then have him hold the bottle and pray or think about good things. Tell him to imagine that this is a bottle of magic water, and that no monsters can come within seven miles of it!

You can also come up with a clever song to sing while you (or they) spray the room. Here’s a couple of suggestions:

For GIRLS:Sarah squirts the Monster Spray, Monster Spray, Monster Spray.Sarah squirts the Monster Spray to keep them all away.(To the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”)

For BOYS:

All the monsters run away, run away, run awayWhen I fire the Monster SprayIn my bedroom!(To the tune of “London Bridge is Falling Down”)

(Note to parents: in addition to its proven and famed anti-monster properties, this spray will also help your kids fall asleep more easily. But don’t tell them that!)

QUESTION – WOULD YOUR KIDS ENJOY THIS FUN ACTIVITY TO HELP RID THEIR ROOM OF THE SCARY THINGS?
