broken image

The many and varied challenges, barriers, and levels of discomfort children with special needs must cope with on a daily basis can be overwhelming at times. This can lead to feelings of anger, frustration, sadness and worry.

This is perhaps, one of the most difficult aspects of parenting a child with special needs, because we want so much for our children to be happy!

But, the good news is there are MANY beautiful oils to support the moods of our children and to restore them to a place of peace and contentment.

All children may experience a sense of fear, nervousness, or excessive worry at times, especially when they know they are in trouble,or are getting ready to participate in a new activity, such as trying out for the ball team or doing a presentation in front of their class.

However, some children, especially those who have generalized or social anxiety disorders, autism, OCD, or other similar diagnoses, must cope with these feelings on a daily, or sometimes hourly basis.

Some of the BEST Essential Oils shown to be very effective in helping children to cope with these feelings include:

Console Blend

Peace Reassuring Blend

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

YLANG YLANG Essential Oil is derived from the star-shaped flowers of the tropical Ylang Ylang tree. It is used to lessen tension and stress and to promote a positive outlook. Taken internally, YLANG YLANG provides antioxidant support.* YLANG YLANG blends well with Bergamot, Geranium, Grapefruit, and Vetiver and is found in both the Console and Peace Reassuring Blends.

Diffusing or placing YLANG YLANG or any of the other oils listed above on a diffuser necklace or bracelet will help to ease feelings of nervousness, fear, or worry.

Children really enjoy smelling the different oils and will appreciate being given a choice of which one they would like to use to help them to feel calmer.
