Step 3 – Excocannabinoids

broken image

EXCOCANNABINOIDS refer to cannabinoids that occur outside the body. EXCOCANNABINOIDS can be further broken down into two main types: those that occur in plants (called phytocannabinoids) and those that are produced synthetically.

There are three main cannabinoids that are derived from plants that work with the CB1 and/or CB2 receptors. These are CBD, THC, and BCP.

Many people believe that cannabinoids come only from cannabis (marijuana) and hemp plants, but many types of plants contain cannabinoids, including the BCP (Beta-CaryoPhyllene) found in many of the Essential Oils we’re familiar with and may have used to help with stress and/or environmental threats:

Black Pepper

• Oregano

• Ylang Ylang

• Helichrysum

• Melissa

• Clove

• Juniper Berry

• Rosemary

QUESTION – HAVE YOU USED ANY OF THE OILS LISTED ABOVE THAT CONTAIN HIGH LEVELS OF BCP? IF SO, WHICH ONES?
